What is Math 3 all about?
Common Core Math 3 presents students with their capstone secondary math course, and leads students into a transition to college preparatory mathematics. Common Core Math 3 emphasizes a deeper level of student comprehension and skill with mathematics as a tool for modelling real world situations for the purpose of making prediction, solving problems, and making informed decisions. The course will cover Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Statistics. Students will expand their algebraic understanding to radical, complex, and higher (cubic or greater) polynomial expressions, as well as exponential and logarithmic expressions. Geometry will focus on proving and manipulating geometric relationships of circles and quadrilaterals. Trigonometry will transition to Unit Circle-based trigonometric relationships. Statistics will expand student's understanding by incorporating the study of the "spread" of data as well as central tendencies (e.g. mean) and examine how statistical studies are performed.
